Of residents over the age of 25 did not graduate from high school
We know that getting young people the resources they need to graduate from high school and be ready for college starts at birth. The Stack Center will include educational programming for all ages, with integrated enrollment and referrals to create cradle to career pathways.
The first floor of the new center will house seven education and technology spaces. Several providers will work together to offer daily programming for all ages, with a special focus on youth and young adults. Services will include:
A homework support center for afterschool learning
A technology lab with a recording studio
Daily programming for students age 12-17 who have struggled to succeed in traditional school settings
A literacy lab for language and life-long learners
In addition, the existing Matt Jimenez Community Center will be renovated to house 6,250 square feet of infant to preschool childcare and school readiness programs. The renovated space will be home to Kidango's long-standing, affordable part-day and full-day programs for children 0-5 years old.
